"Candombe - The Magic of the Drum"
The Magic of the Drum was a great success with over 100 people
attended the event on Friday March 23rd and enjoyed Candombe music by
Sergio Barboza.

What People Said:
"These events are very interesting, specially, because these allow us to learn more about the various Latin America countries. In my case, I’m Peruvian, and I knew about Uruguayan Candombe, which I enjoyed at various Hispanic events, but what I enjoyed most today was to learn how this initiative started and that there are differences i.e. between all types of drums and the way to play them”
– Maria Araujo
"As Canadian, I found the event very interesting and fun. Learned a lot and look forward to the next event."
- Jeff Spiteri
"I feel very proud of having a fellow uruguayan like Sergio, who excels in representing our tradition. I have shared the stage with Sergio several times and it is an honor to do it. As a musician, harpist, I greatly thank the Association for all the effort and care invested to promote our culture”
- Martha Mazzoleni
"Genuine presentation, careful sample of knowledge, study and most of all love"
- Alba Agosto
